Seen from above, the flat roofs of these 14 houses are long, narrow and dark, which makes the upper floor volumes and the terraces between them look like the keys on a piano. In order to give the arrangement a rhythm, the rows have incisions in three places that reach down to the building base. Thanks to the sloping site, each house has a forecourt, a garden on the sloping side and flexible exterior spaces. The building floors vary, which permits a range of uses and arrangements and is therefore open to a number of different interpretations. The façades of the neighboring houses protect the terraces and create protected and private individual areas.
